Our extra care retirement properties offer extra support from trained care staff.  Care is provided by a professional team, administering both agreed care and support packages and providing help in an emergency.  Please note, there are upper limits to the amount of care and support that can be provided in an extra care development and very occasionally alternative accommodation may have to be arranged for a resident. This decision would be made by health and social care professionals in conjunction with the family or an advocate acting for the resident.

Extra care housing is ideal for older people who want to live independently in a home of their own, even though they may need help and support with day-to-day living. Our extra care developments consist of thoughtfully-designed one and two bedroom apartments.  Every development has a restaurant and other facilities including residents' lounge, landscaped gardens and computer suite. A Saxon Weald manager is available to deal with housing and building issues.

Extra care apartments are available both to rent and to buy. To see properties available to buy, please see our Weald Living sales website.  The process of renting an extra care apartment varies from development to development but usually to be considered for rental at an extra care property you will first need to be assessed by your local adult social services team.  You can find out who your local team is on the gov.uk website.
